How Do You Get People To Your Blog?

We all know how extremely valuable a blog is, right?  If not, check out some other articles I have written, because I sing their praises day in and day out.

Here’s a short list of their value:

  1. SEO (search engine optimization)

  2. PR (public relations)

  3. Proving authority in your field

  4. Soft sales (relationship building that will lead to sales if they dig you)

Now, how do we actually GET people TO your blog?

Too many people set up shop (their blog), and think, “If I build it, they will come…”. No Bueno.

People still won’t know about it until you tell them about it, right? Especially in the early days when Google hasn’t had a chance to scan it yet. (typically takes Google 6-8 weeks to index or re-index a site).  That being said, as you are building your blog out, don’t post 1 blog and wait for it to get indexed, k?

What you want to do is write, write, write.  I’m talking at least (3), 300 word blogs per week in the beginning. Bonus points if you can keep it up! The algorithm LOVES that!

So, as you are writing these new blogs, tell people about them.  Let people know they exist, so they can start working for you even before Google picks them up!

Some really great ways to do this are:

-share directly from your site to social media
-mention your blog in your social profiles
-when you’re scanning through social media, and someone has a question that you answered on your blog…you see where I’m going? Share your blog post in the thread!
-this one takes the last one up a level, and if you see someone talking about something you do on social media, but you don’t have a post on that subject yet…write one!  THEN share that son of a gun!
-think outside the box 🙂
I made a course that gets even further into some really awesome + creative things to do to promote your blog.  Check it out here.

Happy promoting and catch you next time!

P.S. As always, leave a comment if you have any questions or even better, WINS!
